Beyond Distribution has signed pre-sales with key broadcasters in the US & Latin America for it’s new documentary series about Pablo Escobar, featuring exclusive interviews with his son, Juan Pablo Escobar, due to launch at MIPCOM later this year.

Escobar’s World (2 x 60’) has been acquired by Comcast NBCUniversal’s Telemundo network, securing the exclusive premiere rights to broadcast the documentary in the US while History Channel Latin America has secured the cable rights to broadcast the title in Latin America.

Produced by Éric Hébert in Canada, Escobar’s World is the only documentary about the infamous Colombian drug lord to feature in-depth interviews with his son, Juan Pablo Escobar as well as exclusive never before seen footage of Pablo Escobar with his friends, family and associates.

"We are proud to partner with Beyond Distribution on this biopic about one of the most complex villains of our time," said Luis Silberwasser, President, Telemundo and Universo Networks.

"At Telemundo, we pride ourselves in finding the best untold stories for the U.S. Hispanic market."

Sherry Fynbo, SVP, Sales for USA, Canada & Latin America, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Beyond Distribution, said:

“I’m thrilled that Telemundo & History Channel Latin America have jumped on board for this story. People might think they know everything about Pablo Escobar, but this documentary will highlight some harsh truths that have never been revealed, until now.”
