Following the success of Escobar Exposed (2 x 60’), Beyond Distribution will launch a new investigative docuseries at MIPCOM that reveals, for the first time, the rise of a new generation of drug lords who came to power after Pablo Escobar and are still active today. The Invisibles (6 x 60’) has been pre-sold to National Geographic Channel in the US and Latin America, SBS in Australia, ZDF in Germany and TV2 in Norway. With access to DEA Special Agents, and multiple crime agencies worldwide, the series follows a criminal network that quietly controls a global drug business stretching across the Americas to Europe, Africa, China, and Australia. Produced by Beyond Productions, at the heart of each episode is a key ‘Invisible’ who is identified. Together the stories paint an evolving picture of adaptation and innovation. From Don Berna, Escobar’s successor who changed the rules of the game and created the conditions for the rise of the Invisibles, to the ultimate active investigation into an active Invisible who will be exposed for the first time. Sherry Fynbo, SVP, Sales for USA, Canada & Latin America, who is the Executive Producer for the series and negotiated the deals on behalf of Beyond Distribution added: “The Invisibles is an investigative deep dive into a secret global network that has been only been known by law enforcement. A groundbreaking series into the inner workings of cocaine wholesalers. With unprecedented exclusive access, we go straight to the top of the food chain to bring the audience unparalleled first hand stories and access to the real kingpins”.
