Beyond Distribution has licensed the Emmy-award winning children’s animated series, Beat Bugs to Nickelodeon Australia ahead of the official launch of the series at MIPJr later this year. Airing on Nick Jr. from the end of May, Josh Wakely’s Beat Bugs (52 x 11’) is the first children’s animated series to feature songs made famous by The Beatles, performed by some of the world’s leading artists, including Robbie Williams, Jennifer Hudson and P!nk. Beat Bugs was also recently awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Programme. Ben Cox, Vice President and General Manager of Nickelodeon Australia Networks Australia and New Zealand, comments: “We’re thrilled to welcome Beat Bugs to Nick Jr., the series has high production values and is set to an amazing soundtrack, it offers something a little different to children and parents alike. We know music is a great learning tool for pre-schoolers, and through the songs made famous by The Beatles parents and carers can be involved, helping promote co-viewing and getting pre-schoolers school ready.” Joanne Azzorpardi, SVP, Sales and Acquisitions for Australia, New Zealand and Asia at Beyond Distribution, added: “I’m so pleased Beat Bugs will appear on Nick Jr. It is an endorsement of the quality of the series to be broadcast on one of the world’s leading channels for children’s content.” Beat Bugs will officially launch to buyers at MipJr later this year. The series is co-produced by Grace: a storytelling company and Thunderbird with Beyond Screen Production.
